I get a page that says I should download a V7 Player
Your Windows Media Player software is out of date.
I you receive this message while trying to play a clip it means your Windows Media Player software is too old to support the version of encoding used for that clip. Contrary to the actual name, a V7 player is really any Windows Media Player version 9 or better. "V7" is a reference to the Windows Media license format, not the player software version.
The best solution is to go to the MicroSoft website and download a current player.
Click here to upgrade your Windows Media Player.
Windows 98 users
Microsoft does not offer Windows Media Player 9 for Windows 98 1st Edition and older operating systems. Upgrades are, however, available for Windows 98 SE (2nd Edition).
